So What Do You Want to Do, Be & Have?

So what do you want to be, do and have?  This statement sounds so obvious but the answer is not.  Our heads are full of what we should do or should want that we really don’t know.  The media bombards us with advertising and programming to guide our thinking.  The pressures from others to have more, do more or be more distorts our understanding of ourselves.  Expectations from others and what they want for us or from us only adds to the confusion.  These and other external energies get into our space and cloud our ability to see clearly.

So how do you know what is truth for you?  Put simply, it feels right.  To get to this space you may have to clear all the energies that are affecting your ability to see clearly.  There are many ways to do this.  The simplest from my perspective is meditation.  Meditation is a way to open to your awareness, your intuition and clear your space.  If that is not your thing then simply sit quietly.

Knowing what you want to create is the first step.  This could be something personal or professional.  It could include your health, relationships, work, business, finances, etc.  Take the time to be clear about what you want.  Take the time to clear your space and your thinking of all the energies I mentioned above so that you are creating what is true for you versus your response to all the energies in your space.

Once you know what you want then you can decide whether you want to create it.  It has been my experience that it is important to know what you want whether you decide to create it or not.  There is great power in deciding whether you want to create or not.

My client, Sara, is a great communicator.  Her heart’s desire has been to have a TV show in which she highlights people big and small who make a difference in some way.  Sara took many steps to explore this as a possibility.  In the end she decided that she did not want to expend the amount of energy it would take to make it happen.  In making this decision she freed herself to use those same skills in a professional way.  She works for an agency that impacts public policy.  Her skills in communication make her ideally suited for this work.  Sara became successful when she decided what she wanted to do, be and have.

Another client, Fred, was in his fifties when he decided to take a huge step and expand his business in a new way.  He was a graphics designer who expanded his work to include web design but now he wanted more.  Fred decided to transition his company in a big way by adding staff and shifting his work from small businesses to large corporate clients.  There was nothing logical about this.  No one believed he could make a transition with this big a leap but Fred did.  He was clear, focused, determined and did not listen to those who could not imagine it happening.  In less than a year his new business has started and work is coming.  There is no logic to this just a strong vision, courage and determination.  It is so clear to me that this new aspect of his business suits him so perfectly.

Achieving goals takes great courage as these examples show.  It all begins with knowing what you want to do, be and have.

What do you want to create?  Write and rewrite it until it feels right.  Use meditation to clear your space and your thinking so that you can know for certain.  Then take steps to make it happen.

Remember you are never too old and it is never too late.

Best wishes on your success,

Kay

Mentoring for professionals.

Believe It or Not

Meditate/Reflect

Kathy wanted to add three new clients this month but could not imagine that happening and wanted inspiration. I smiled because we forget or don’t realize we are always creating or not depending on what we believe.

During the next few minutes I guided Kathy to visualize having three new clients. This was hard for her because she is a doer and feels like she has to know how to bring in those clients. I suggested this one time to get out of her mind and instead imagine three new clients using her mind’s eye.

Kathy took a deep breath, closed her eyes and did something she had never tried before. She began to visualize. She called the very next day to report that she signed contracts with two new clients and scheduled a meeting with a corporation she has always wanted to work with.

A coincidence? There are no coincidences. If you are not sure try this for yourself.

Best wishes on your success, Kay

Goals Do Not Create Success

Most business owners and professionals take the time to decide their goals.  Some even write them down.  From my experience working as an intuitive business consultant, goals do not achieve success!

You can write and achieve goals all day long and never manifest your vision of success.  Manifesting success begins with having a clear vision of what this is.  Once you have a clear vision then you are ready to create goals that support your vision.  Goals without a vision is simply a way to discipline yourself or create tasks.

Knowing how to visualize is key.  To visualize means to see in your mind’s eye or imagine.   If you are thinking about what you want then you are not visualizing.  Thinking and visualizing are different sides of the brain and create different results.

Steps to visualize:

  • Take the time to be quiet.  I recommend meditation but simply sitting quietly with your eyes closed is enough.
  • Relax and clear your mind.  Stop thinking.
  • Breathe deeply throughout to relax and release.
  • Begin to imagine.  What is your grandest vision for yourself, your business or your work?  Don’t fantasize.  Imagine or see your business or your work precisely as you would like it to be.
  • Keep clearing your thinking.  Releasing tension. Opening to your ability to see clearly.

This may not be so easy at first.  Do this often until you can see your vision clearly knowing that if you cannot imagine it then it cannot happen.  See your vision as the blue print for what you are creating. This may not be logical but if you do this practice you will see immediate results.

Next Blog will be on how to create and use goals from an intuitive perspective.

If you would like help with learning to visualize please make a mentoring appointment with me and I will guide you.

Best wishes on your success,

Kay

Success without Limitations – Get Out of Your Mind

Let me challenge your thinking.

  • Success is always possible unless you believe that it is not.
  • There is never a reason outside of you for why success won’t happen.

These statements come from my intuitive reading of hundreds of business owners and professionals for 30 years.  We quite simply get in our own way.   Not intentionally, definitely NOT intentionally but simply because we are not aware that our own thinking is wrong.

You are probably wondering how that is true.   Eckhart Tolle, author of several books,  states that our brains have a mind of their own.   That is so true.  Given the chance our mind will create its own story about why something is absolutely true and we believe it without a doubt!  In this way we sabotage our own success.

Destroying Potential Clients

For example, my client Matt called a potential client, Ed, who he had created communication with.  He left a message for Ed telling him about an innovative product and if he wanted more information to call back.  Ed did not call back.  He left another message.  A week passed then two and three.  Matt decided in his own mind that Ed was not interested or he would have called back.  Matt went on to decide a whole list of thoughts that destroyed his interest in continuing to nurture this client.  He scratched Ed off his list.  As it turned out Ed was off on vacation and came back sick so was off for longer than expected.  Matt thoughts and reality were not the same.

Now you are probably thinking that Matt overreacted and you would be right.  It is easy to see this in others and not so easy to see this in ourselves.   When mentoring business owners and professionals to meet goals, create change or make important decisions, I look intuitively to see the thoughts, concepts, pictures and energies they created that are in the way of their success.  Most often we cannot see these on our own.  We tend to believe whatever we think.

Creating What We Resist

Another example has to do with memory.  We have a negative experience, create a whole list of assumptions based on that experience then apply all of them to the future.   Kathy was under contract with a client for a big project.  She did the work.  The client did not pay on the agreed schedule creating a troublesome cash flow problem.   She found with each new contract she expected the same thing to happen.  Not coincidentally it happened over and over again.

Get Out of Your Mind

There are no coincidences.  Whatever we believe is precisely what we manifest.  What are the thoughts, concepts, beliefs that you have created in your mind that limit your success?

Take the time to meditate.    For this to work for you try not to think because that’s where the lies are.

  • Quiet the body and clear your mind.
  • Open to your intuition.
  • As you become aware of what is in your and in your way you can imagine letting go of and separating from these thoughts.
  • Clear your thinking then imagine your successful self!

Best wishes on your success,  Kay

Don’t go into a meeting blind – See clearly!

See clearly in your mind's eye

Someone sets the tone of every meeting.  When you are meeting with a client that person should be you.  This takes time and preparation.

We have all had experiences in meetings in which it unexpectedly starts off on a bad foot or shortly into the meeting things seem to go in a different direction than we had planned.  We find ourselves experiencing a lot of effort and our potential client is not responding in a way we expected.

Set the tone

As an intuitive business consultant I would like to offer an intuitive technique that helps set the energy or tone of a meeting.  This applies to a meeting in person, by phone or online.  It begins with meditation and depending on the importance of the meeting you will want to do this several times before the actual appointment

Going to a meeting blind

I would never recommend walking into a meeting blind meaning without a clear vision.   This is different from having an idea or plan.  Try the following exercise and see if it changes your experience in meetings.

Intuitive Exercise

Take the time to meditate.  This means to quiet the body, clear the mind, to stop thinking and open to your intuition.   Sitting in a quiet place with your eyes closed helps with meditation.

Your Vision

When you feel relaxed and have cleared your thinking then begin to imagine the upcoming meeting.  See it in your mind’s eye.

  • Be aware of your goal for the meeting
    • Release any thoughts you have that may get in the way of this
  • Be aware of the person or persons you are meeting with
    • Read them intuitively
    • What do you see or imagine is on their mind?
    • What are their expectations, concerns or needs?
  • Imagine how you would like to set the tone or energy of your conversation with them.
  • See the meeting going precisely as you would like.
    • Clear your thinking that may argue against your vision.
    • Release any doubts, fears or other emotions that are in the way of your certainty.

You may find that you have to do this exercise several times to clear your thinking and have a clear vision.  That is up to you.  When your vision is clear then you are ready.

Best wishes on your success.

Don’t Give Up Your Goals!

You have your vision for the year.  You are enthusiastic about your goals.  Your plans are in place.   It is just about now when the energy hits! You begin to wonder about your goals.  The energy level has dropped or things are not moving as expected.   This is normal so don’t give up your goals.

Each January my gym, and probably yours, experience a sudden increase in membership and participation.  We all complain about equipment not being available but also know that in one month those folks will be gone so we wait it out.  It is worth making this observation.  This happens not only to those who commit to working out  it happens to anyone setting goals.

Change Is Uncomfortable

When we create a goal and have a strong vision of it manifesting our energy changes and our entire universe starts to change so that this new goal can happen.   These changes are most often uncomfortable because change means getting out of our routine and our comfort zone.  When we get out of our comfort zone everything seems unfamiliar and uncertainty sets in.  It is at this point in our confusion that we consider giving up our goals.  Don’t give up your goals.

Old Thinking

A goal  is something that we don’t currently have but we want.  Our energy, thoughts and pictures create our current routine, to manifest our lives and our work as it is now.  To achieve our goals something, and maybe everything, has to change.  Our energy begins to change.  Everything feels awkward and perhaps uncomfortable.  We  also have to change our thinking, which challenges what we know or believe.  During this time we may doubt ourselves.   Finally we have to see our lives, our work and ourselves in a new way, a way that supports our vision.

Not for the Faint of Heart

Change can be unnerving when we aren’t aware of what is going on.  We tend to question our goals and our ability to achieve them when all we really need to do is focus even more on our vision, to observe the changes this vision is creating, be certain, be enthused and ride the storm of change.

As an intuitive business consultant I know that is the time when business owners and professionals decide to commit to their vision or give up.   In all the years I have consulted the reason most do not achieve their vision is because they decide it won’t happen.  It is my perspective that it takes great courage and determination to achieve goals.   Achieving our vision of  success is not for the faint of heart but achieving a vision has a profound impact on our sense of self and our ability to create.  Giving up our goals  creates a different impact.

Intuitive Tips

We call these periods of uncertainty growth periods or periods of growth.   They happen periodically and usually signal that you are taking a big step towards your goals.   When you hit the wall it is important to get energy moving.  This can happen in several ways.

  • Raise your energy level to enthusiasm!  For each of us that means different things.  Take the time to have fun!  Do something you enjoy.
  • Get the energy moving by taking a new step towards achieving your goals so that you don’t back away.  Do something you enjoy and that inspires you.
  • Get communication.  Talk to one or more people who you trust about your goals, the steps you are taking and get their best counsel.

Most importantly  focus on your vision of success, be in enthusiasm and create ways to keep the energy moving know that this period of change is part of the process.

Don’t give up your goals. When you are traveling on the road of  success and a bolder falls along the way, don’t stop.  Climb over it.  Walk around it.   Be certain that you will find a way.

Best wishes on your success.

Multi-Tasking or Being Successful!

multitaskingAs an intuitive I pay attention to how we use our energy and if we are achieving our goals.  Those who are most successful are those who have the greatest ability to focus.

For many being BUSY and multi-tasking gives a great sense of satisfaction.  This does not, however, translate into success.  A study just came out of Stanford University on multi-taskers. “When they’re in situations where there are multiple sources of information coming from the external world or emerging out of memory, they’re not able to filter out what’s not relevant to their current goal,” said Wagner, an associate professor of psychology. “That failure to filter means they’re slowed down by that irrelevant information.”

To be successful our energy must be focused and directed to the specific actions designed to achieve our goals.  Knowing are vision of success and creating a plan to get there are the first two steps.  Now we have to ground our energy so that we can focus on our plan and not be distracted.

Sometimes we are just distracted by whatever grabs our attention or is on our mind.  Others may grab our attention to become involved in something of their choosing.  In any case, we are quickly off focus or multi-tasking.

When you focus 100% of your energy and attention on the vision of your success it will manifest.  On the other hand if you have a vision of success then you focus your energy not only on your vision but many other things then your vision has less energy to manifest.  Multi-tasking disperses your energy such that your efforts are scattered.   You may experience your successes being scattered.

Try this intuitive exercise to ground your energy and focus before you find yourself involved in multi-tasking or doing tasks that are not essential to achieving your goals.

At the beginning of each day take the time to meditate.

Close your eyes.  Take a deep breath and ground yourself.  Bring your attention into the center of your head.

See in your mind’s eye.  Don’t think.  See your vision of success.   See the steps you can take today to manifest this vision.

Stay in meditation until you have a clear vision for the day and you feel grounded in this plan.

Notice when you start to multi-task and refocus on steps to achieve your goals.

Stay the Course!

dreamstimefree_roadI just have to tell you Susan’s story because it is so familiar and I see it so often.  Susan is an amazingly capable professional working for a large national organization.  In recent years she began to feel dissatisfied with her work not because there was anything wrong with it but more that she was ready for new challenges and to move closer to her next dream job.

No Idea!

With that in mind Susan contacted me to assist her with this transition.  She had no idea where or what that dream job was.   I guided through intuitive meditation to begin to imagine this dream job.  All the thinking and logic in the world was not working for her so an intuitive approach seemed right to her.

Her Vision

Susan did not know the exact job that she wanted but she was very clear about components of the job, the talents she wanted to use and new areas of growth and challenge.  With that awareness I guided her in meditation regularly as a way of manifesting this vision.

Creating A Plan

A week or so after she created her vision she decided a move to Denver was part of her vision.  She reached out to some contacts in that area telling them of her interested in finding a new job in the Denver area and could they help.  In a very short time, maybe a week or two, she received a call for an interview for a position that far exceeded her expectations.  Suddenly she was very uncertain.  Was this too big a step?  Was it the right step?

Don’t Question

This next part is important and a critical intuitive principle.  Don’t answer these questions!  Susan would just make herself crazy logically arguing one side or another.  I advised Susan to go back into meditation and focus on her original vision.  Seeing this vision in her minds eye is calming and brings her goals into perspective.  In this way the answers are obvious.  There are no competing options.

Manifesting

Susan is in Denver interviewing as one step has led to another without any effort on her part.  Susan described this morning, “It is as if my vision is simply unfolding in front of my very eyes.  It is scary and wonderful at the same time.”

Intuitive Exercise

The intuitive technique I worked with Susan is simple.  Go into meditation so that you can become quiet, stop thinking and open to your inner voice and intuition.  Visualize a goal you would like to manifest.  Don’t think.  See the goal in your minds eye.   Take a deep breath.  Now let that goal manifest.  Clear seeing is the key.

Best wishes on your success.

A decision that does not matter!

B0319623Success comes from knowing our vision (goal) and keeping that vision in our minds eye.  As a business intuitive, my clients often ask about one decision or another I refer them back to their vision (goal) and whether this decision will help achieve those goals.  Often we think one decision or the other is critically important loosing site of our vision.

We focus on the next decision when our vision makes us feel as if the changes to get there are too great.  We feel overwhelmed by our vision. It is the magnitude of change it represents that causes us to be distracted.  This is the point where we have to decide whether to stay committed to our vision or create a new one.  Once we decide to commit to our vision then determination and focus are needed to push through the energy to get there.

Achieving goals is not for the faint of heart.  If you have a vision, see it clearly in your mind’s eye.  Don’t think about it.  See it intuitively then focus your time, attention and commitment to achieving that vision. Breathe deeply.  Allow fear.  Allow change.  Achieve your vision.

Start Your Day with Success!

0012photonica

How you start your day has a great deal to do with how successful you are. Those who start their day deciding what they have to do that day are not successful. They work hard, are busy but not successful. Those who start their day imaging or bringing into their awareness the goals they have for their personal lives as well as their professional lives. In the environment today this should include your financial goals and goals related to your health.

A mornng meditation or a simply a time of quiet to bring these goals to your awareness is the single most important part of your day and most people don’t do it!

Once you recall and envision your goals then and only then can you make a list for your day that will move your toward your success. This is different than a “to do” list that may be driven by factors other than achieving your goals. They may even be strong factors but they may not be as important in the bigger picture.

So achieving your goals begins with having them in your awareness and focusing your time to achieve them. Otherwise you are constantly being distracted onto other things that occupy your time.

Now that you have a clear vision of the goals you want to achieve NOW you can create your plan for today and this week. What steps can you take today that will help you move closer to your goals? Make time for these things FIRST even if there are a bunch of other “things” that you feel you must do. “Things” are not related to your goals. They could be if you changed the energy on them and repositioned them so that they are steps in achieving your goals.

If you are one of those people who have a tough time knowing your goals, taking the time to ground your day along these lines then perhaps it is time for an intuitive reading on what is in your way. Call me if you would like help with this. My goal is the success of your business or your career.

Decision making is overrated!

Making a decision can be the wrong thing to do. Probably the most common reason that folks contact me is because they have to make a decision. They want to make sure they are making the right decision. Often I see intuitively that making a decision is not the right thing to do at the time. The first question I ask my client is “What are your goals?” Not what is the goal for this decision, but rather what are YOUR goals personally, professionally, financially, etc. If they know the answer to this question for certain, they are ready to make decisions. Most often we are not clear about our goals. When we know our goals clearly, meaning that we can see them clearly in our mind’s eye, and they fit logical then decisions follow easily. What are my goals (in all aspects of my life)? Will making this decision help me get my goals?

I am amazed how often we get caught up and use all of our life force energy and our intellectual stamina to make a decision that has nothing to do with what we want in our business, profession or our lives. One of my clients is a high fashion model in New York. She has some major decisions to make about where she will live, her relationship, her work and her career. It seemed quite overwhelming to her. As I questioned her about her goals, her options became more evident. I saw intuitively the energies that were affecting her choices and as I told her what I saw things became even clearer. By the end of the consultation, she was not asking about decisions. She was talking about her plans to achieve her goals.

Another of my clients owns a successful hedge fund. He was stressed with the decisions he felt he had to make. When I looked at him intuitively, I saw the energy behind his decisions had nothing to do with his business, so I asked, “What are your goals – on all levels?” He was clear on his goals personally and professionally but did not see how his personal goal of having a family was core to all the decisions he needed to make at that time.

Next Step: Take the time to know your goals: personal, professional, business, emotional, health, wealth and spiritual. Know them. See them clearly in your mind’s eye. Write them down. Look at them often. Whenever you have to make a decision look at your goals first and see if it will help you to manifest your goals. If not, then it is not your question or maybe even a decision you do not need to make. Whose question or decision is it?

You are constantly making decisions without a second thought. When you cannot decide then do not decide. Step back and focus on your vision. That will guide you clearly.

Best wishes on your success, Kay

Are your habits and routines killing your success?

Out of your comfort zone?
Out of your comfort zone?

When we decide we want something and set a goal we have decided to change! The only problem with that is we often don’t have the full extent of the change in our mind. Our lives are already filled with what we are experiencing right now. Deciding that we want something new (a goal) means that our life needs to change in some way to make room for this new goal. There is an intuitive way to say this. Your energy is set in a particular way (pattern) based on your life as it is now, your routine and your habits. To create something new means changing this pattern of energy. Sounds simple except that we are comfortable in our routines, and we don’t imagine changing these when we create a goal.

Goals will not manifest if we are “set in our ways” or our energy is set in a particular and inflexible way. That is why people who are willing to take risks are more successful. They are willing to go through a period of being uncomfortable. They are willing to get out of their comfort zone. They are willing to allow the energy change to an unknown or unexpected. When we are willing to allow change and a period of being uncomfortable with our energy changing then we are ready for greater success.

Try this intuitive exercise. Find a time and place to be quiet. Close your eyes and go within. Begin to imagine one of your goals. Allow yourself to be aware of how your life, routines and habits will need to change to make room for this goal. Don’t think! Imagine. Be intuitive. This is not logical. Allow your inner self to be heard. Notice what part of your goal makes you uncomfortable. Notice any our resistance to change.

Come out of this meditation and write your goal. Now write how things might change as you manifest this goal. Decide if you are ready for these changes and your goal to happen

Begin today. Your next step is to notice your habits, routines or patterns and change something. Get out of at least one routine. Notice how easy it is for you to allow change. This is a measure of your ability to succeed.

Best wishes on your success,

Kay
