Embrace Discomfort to Have More

Challenging ourselves is essential for spiritual, physical and emotional wellness.  If we stay in our routine, we become unconscious and stop evolving in our hearts and in our lives.  We become complacent, apathetic and unhappy.

Being willing to change, to try something new and challenge ourselves has less to do with where you go or what you do but more to do with getting out of your routine, what is familiar and comfortable.  Where we are may be comfortable and familiar even if it does not give us what we desire.  Seeking comfort gets in our way.

When our energy drops or nothing is moving, the answer is not to seek more comfort but to seek discomfort. Is that counterintuitive or just very intuitive?  When your energy is low and you can’t see what’s next, stop thinking and take on a challenge.  It could be a big challenge or a simple one depending how much you want to change your energy.

When we keep doing what we do and how we do it, our energy gets stuck in one spin pattern that repeats.  To have more of our energy we have to get out of that spin pattern.  So how do we do that?

Try something new, do something different, and get out of your comfort zone.  This has enormous impact on our energy. The more we stay where we are, doing what we do every day, the more unconscious we become to who we are.

Notice how you spend your time. Look at your routine.  Are you doing things that do not challenge you but just occupy your time?  Are you doing things that make you unconscious (lost in television, social media, searching the internet, etc.)?  Do you avoid change?

Can you step out of what is familiar and do something different maybe something that makes you uncomfortable. Discomfort means our energy is changing.  It is called a growth period.

It can be hard to experience uncertainty, doing something for which you don’t already know the outcome.  What keeps us from challenging ourselves to change?  Old invalidation  Fear.  The need to control.   Discomfort. Uncertainty.  The need to make things predictable, efficient and manageable. If our experiences are always the same then our energy stay the same and nothing changes.

Are you open to something new, that will change your energy, and your experience of yourself and your life? Change how you think about life. Adopt an adventure mind-set, embrace a hero’s journey, look for inspiration, be curious or experience self-expression.

When we change our energy, we change how we experience our life. If you want to feel better, to feel good about yourself, have the energy to create something new, to raise your vibration to joy or happiness or enthusiasm, then change your routine, take risks, try new things, challenge yourself.  Get out of your comfort zone and see what happens. Stop seeking comfort and seek the energy that brings joy.

What is Your Worth?

What is going on when we feel unsure of our value and our worth? What is going on when we worry about our image and our self-image?

These are questions people commonly ask.  As an intuitive, when we feel this way, I see that we have lost connection with ourselves.  We are outwardly focused on people and places. and things. We cannot find ourselves out there.

We ask these questions when we have lost awareness of who we are at our core.  The word “core” primarily comes from Old French coeur (heart), which comes from Latin cor (heart), signifying the innermost part of something.

You could say you lost connection with your heart or your heart chakra, your center, your core.   When we are connecting with who we are at our core, we are also aware of our original essence and who we are as a spirit in a body.

How we experience our worth and our value comes from there.  Our image and self-image are a reflection of this essence.

To get back to the place where we know our value, our worth and own our self-image, begin by going withing and find yourself there.

Next steps: Make time daily for quiet meditation or simply to relax and quiet the body.

Close your eyes.

Feel connected to the earth.

Come out of your thoughts.  Stop thinking.  The answer to your question is not logical.

Bring your attention back to yourself.

Be more quiet. Go within.

Bring your attention to your heart, and know and listen to yourself there.

Ask your questions there, then quietly learn to listen.

When you come out of meditation, do not go back to your old way of being or thinking. Let your awareness be in a new place. Allow yourself to be more conscious and aware in the present time.

What Do You Wish For In 2024?

The focus of my work has always been for people to realize and actualize their ability to create. My approach has evolved over the years as the concepts we hold as a society change. Those concepts program us to think and act a certain way that may or may not serve us.

For a long time, I focused on people achieving goals. I soon realized that my approach made it easy for people to achieve goals but that was not enough. My clients would report that they achieved the goals they set but were not happy. Something was missing.

From this I changed my approach. Instead of focusing on achieving goals, we focused on the life we desired. To see our life as a whole and how we want to experience and express ourselves meant going within.

Achieving goals means to focus outside ourselves to achieve something. We can do that but that is not the way it is meant to be. Our path this lifetime is to know, express and experience ourselves in our lives. In that way, our lives are a reflection of who we are at our core (heart).

Meditation is the tool for going within to our core (heart). Meditation helps us reconnect with who are at our core. We can use our original essence, that spark within us, to flow from within to create the life we desire.

This year, at the start of 2024, I want to add a step in creating the life we desire. As before, meditate so that you can see the life you desire. See it in your mind’s eye. Always see yourself having it now not in the future. Let go of any thoughts that say you cannot have it for one reason or another.

Now meditate to answer these questions.

  • What do you wish for in 2024?
  • How do you wish to experience yourself?
  • How do you wish to express yourself? Meditate on these questions. Do not think. See the answers in your mind’s eye.

Next allow the changes needed (get unstuck) so that you can experience more of the life you desire. Best wishes on your new year.
