Spending a day doing things out of routine, habit, or responsibility is a day without purpose. It is the body just being busy without connection to who we are at our core.
In many ways, it is easier to follow a routine. When we stop to reflect (meditate) before we begin our day, we may make different choices, choices that fulfill us in body, mind, and spirit. We may do the same things but with more awareness.
This does not mean that we must accomplish something. We may choose to do that from our meditation. What brings us joy? What raises our energy level? That may mean being quiet or being busy.
It starts with coming back to ourselves, being centered, and being aware of where we are now, in this moment. When we are centered in ourselves, then we can see clearly our next step. A simple step or a big leap. Each day is a step in self-awareness if we choose that.
We cannot be ourselves, know where we are or where we are going, from the unconscious space of routine.
Our purpose is to know ourselves, which can happen each day through reflection (meditation) before we start doing things, so that everything we do is done with being conscious and aware in the moment.
Start each day with a five-minute meditation. If you need a recording to guide you, just let me know, and I will send one to you.
